If you like living under canvas, then you will love camping at the Quinta da Carvalhal, which was an old Portuguese farm and means- the Farm of Oaks.
Nestling in the foot of the mountains at an approximate height of 580m and covering half a hectare, the campsite is surrounded by mountains on all sides with 2 old irrigation tanks now serving as swimming pools, which make the perfect place to cool off after a hard days walk or ride. The campsite also includes a large outdoor kitchen-dining area with cooking facilities and a toilet/shower block.
The campsite is 5 minutes walk from Vila Soeiro, which has 2 local bars and is one of the oldest villages in the Serra and 10kms from Guarda, a bustling and cosmopolitan town with plenty of bars, restaurants, and a state of the art theatre.
The Yurt is a spacious and comfortable place to relax, furnished with a large double bed, 2 bedside tables and a small dining table. All the furniture is handmade on the farm's workshop from recycled wood.
Next to the yurt is a small granite pool which is shaded by vines in the summer.
